Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Part-Time Security Guard for London Hydro in London, Ontario. The role features weekend hours (Saturday and Sunday, 07:30–15:30) and an hourly pay rate of $21.85. The position requires guarding sensitive infrastructure with a focus on access control and incident response.

Responsibilities include patrols, monitoring CCTV, reporting, and enforcing security protocols. Training on UoF/MOAB is provided at Paladin’s expense with a 6-month commitment.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability
• Authorized to legally work in Canada

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the property and designated areas by vehicle or on foot.
• Monitor site access including employees, contractors, visitors, and deliveries.
• Perform access control and verify identification as required.
• Monitor CCTV and security systems for suspicious activity.
• Respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies per site procedures.
• Maintain detailed daily activity and incident reports.
• Enforce site policies and security protocols.
• Report safety hazards and maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with emergency response procedures including contacting emergency services.
• Provide professional customer service and maintain a visible security presence.
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned by site management.

Job description

London Hydro is a key utility provider delivering electricity services to the community. The facility contains sensitive infrastructure and administrative offices that require controlled access and consistent patrol coverage. Security staff ensure the protection of assets, personnel, and critical systems while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Position: PartTimeSecurity Guard

Site: London Hydro

Hours: Saturday & Sunday (07:30 - 15:30 hours)

Pay Rate: $21.85/hour

Overtime Method :Averaging agreement (AA) - 88

Job Duties:

Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
