Job summary

The Huron Perth Catholic District School Board is seeking a Permanent Custodian at St. Marys School, Listowel, Ontario.

This .5 FTE permanent position offers a stable, community-focused role in maintaining a safe and clean school environment for students and staff. The successful candidate will operate cleaning equipment, perform routine maintenance, handle snow removal, and assist with minor repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior custodial and cleaning experience is required.
• Experience in a school setting is an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude for minor repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with computers; Google Workspace is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate cleaning equipment to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, etc.
• Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings.
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
• Tend grounds and plants as required by the Principal.
• Clean and disinfect washrooms, lunchrooms and fixtures.
• Move furniture, equipment and supplies.
• May perform minor repairs as required.
