Job summary

The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board invites applications for a Permanent Custodian at St. Marys School, Listowel, Ontario.

The role is 0.5 FTE and reports to the Principal, providing a safe, clean environment by performing general cleaning and light maintenance. The position pays $25.29 per hour and requires custodial experience, teamwork, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with Google Workspace.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial and/or cleaning experience is required.
• Experience in a school environment is an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills; experience with Google Workspace is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate cleaning equipment to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, etc.
• Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings.
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
• Tend grounds and plants as required by the Principal.
• Clean and disinfect washrooms, lunchrooms and fixtures.
• Move furniture, equipment and supplies.
• May perform minor repairs as required.

Permanent Custodian

The Custodian, reporting to the Principal, is responsible for providing a safe and clean work environment for staff and students, by performing general cleaning and maintenance duties to the school property and grounds. This position is .5 FTE Permanent position at St. Marys School, Listowel, Ontario. The hourly wage is $25.29 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate cleaning equipment to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, etc.
• Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings.
