Job summary

Keewatin-Patricia District School Board in Northwestern Ontario is seeking casual custodians to help maintain clean, safe school facilities and outdoor spaces across Dryden and surrounding communities. Under the supervision of a Worksite Supervisor, you will perform daily cleaning, snow removal, salting, and related duties while following the Custodial Manual and OHSA guidelines.

First Aid is an asset and may be provided if needed.

Qualifications

Grade 12 education or equivalent; preferred but not required.
Good communication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Knowledge of cleaning products and procedures; First Aid certification is an asset and may be provided if necessary.

Responsibilities

Communicates with Worksite Supervisor or Lead Custodian on a daily basis to ensure a safe, secure and clean environment.
Fulfils custodial responsibilities on a regular daily basis for the cleanliness and upkeep of buildings and grounds.
Performs daily cleaning duties in buildings per OHSA and Custodial Manual.
Casual custodians work on an as-needed basis and accept assignments on short notice.
Performs minor grounds maintenance including snow removal and salting.
Ensures that the building is secure and locked when appropriate.
Prepares work orders and assists in requisitions and maintains inventory of custodial supplies.
