Job summary

Qualifications

• Certificate of competence from provincial approved institutions
• Registration with provincial professional body or eligible for registration
• Experience in community or long-term care settings

• Strong problem-solving and big-picture thinking abilities

Responsibilities

• Provide resident/patient care following nursing standards, physician orders, and policies
• Assess and monitor residents/patients; develop and review care plans
• Supervise nursing and personal care staff; conduct orientations and evaluations
• Monitor performance; conduct appraisals; escalate issues to Director of Care
• Provide leadership in the absence of the Director of Care
