Job summary

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide for Maple View Lodge in Athens, Ontario. Qualifications include a post-secondary recreation credential, CPR/First Aid, and two years in a long-term care setting; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma, degree or certification in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or related field from an Ontario post-secondary institution.
• CPR and First Aid Certification required.
• Two (2) years’ experience in long-term care or with elderly population is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a variety of recreational activities on site for residents.
• Coordinate activities to support physical, mental, emotional and social well-being.
• Maintain resident records of attendance and participation in programs.
