Job summary

Extendicare Southwood Lakes in Windsor, ON is seeking a TEMPORARY CERTIFIED Resident Program Aide (Part-Time) to support activities for residents.

You will plan and lead individual and group programs, assist with calendar planning, document care notes, and collaborate with care teams to meet residents' physical, emotional, and social needs. Prior LTC experience and English proficiency required; computer skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a degree or diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, or Social Services is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care with seniors is an asset.
• English reading/writing and comprehension of instructions required.
• Computer knowledge in MS Office, Publisher and WWW is an asset.
• GPA training, empathy and patience are assets.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evaluate individual and group programs to meet residents' physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs.
• Assist with monthly calendar planning and creation.
• Lead group programs, portering residents, setting up and cleanup, and respond to inquiries.
• Maintain resident records per policy (PCC, RAI/MDS, activity tracking).
• Participate in committees and care conferences.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs.
• Attend in-service education and participate in outings with Handi Transit.
• Other duties as assigned by Resident Program Manager.
