Cambrian College’s School of Community Services is seeking qualified part-time Professors to teach in the Social Service Worker program starting January 2027. The position emphasizes engaging, practice‑based instruction within a college setting.

Applicants must hold a BSW and be in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, with at least five years of relevant experience and a proven ability to lead, teach ethically, and connect theory to practice.

• BSW degree and active registration with the OC SWSSW in good standing.
• Minimum five years of professional social work experience, including one-on-one client work.
• Experience developing and facilitating community-based and group programming.
• Experience applying anti-oppressive and decolonizing frameworks.
• Ability to lead, think critically, and communicate professionally.
• Ability to model ethical and professional classroom practice.
• Ability to use creative and inclusive teaching strategies for student learning.
• Strong organizational skills; proficient with presentation software and digital learning tools.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Required:

• A Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** For education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application).
• Active registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
• A minimum of five years of demonstrated professional experience in the social work field, including one-on-one client work.
• Experience developing and facilitating community-based and group programming using a social work lens.
• Experience applying anti-oppressive and decolonizing frameworks in professional practice.
• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, think critically, and communicate effectively and professionally.
• Ability to model ethical and professional practice in the classroom.
• Ability to utilize creative and inclusive teaching strategies to support student learning and success.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with presentation software and digital learning tools.
• Ability to participate effectively and collaboratively within a team environment.

Additional Assets/Preferred:

• Master's degree in social work
• Counselling experience
• Availability to teach during daytime hours
• Availability to participate in program meetings
• Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level

• Knowledge of Indigenous perspectives and an understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s (TRC) Calls to Action
