Job description

Discovery Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Community Service Worker (SCSW) to join our dynamic team as an onsite/in-person instructor in our Campbell River Campus.

We are looking for a passionate educator and mentor who will teach a variety of subjects within the SCSW programme, including Communication (Interpersonal), Personal Growth, Lifespan Development, Mental Health, Supportive Care, Personal Care and Professional Growth.

Position Title: Social & Community Service Worker (SCSW) Program Instructor Wage Range: $31-$33 per hour (commensurate with experience and qualifications) Start Date: December 10, 2026

In-person instruction within the Campbell River campus will involve delivering courses in the SSW programme, following curriculum guidelines and providing mentoring as per the college's support system.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Certificate related to community support work
• 24 months of related occupational experience
• 10 years of related occupational experience

Previous teaching experience would be an asset, and good computer knowledge (Excel, Microsoft Teams, etc.) would be essential.
