Job summary

Red Deer Polytechnic's School of Health & Wellness is hiring for Part Time Practical Nurse Instructors for the upcoming academic year. Instructors teach lectures, labs, or clinical sections, with a mix of on campus and online delivery and travel to rural sites as needed.

Applicants must hold LPN registration (or RN), current BLS, immunization, and a clean Criminal Record Check, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Current registration as an LPN with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) or a Registered Nurse with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
• Current Heart and Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider or Recertification Certificate, or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Respiratory Fit Testing or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Valid Driver’s License
• A satisfactory Criminal Record Check in accordance with the Polytechnic’s Criminal Record Check policy
• Current Immunization as per RDP requirements

Responsibilities

• Teaching students in classroom, lab, and/or clinical settings with flexibility for both face-to-face and online course delivery
• Creating a stimulating, effective, and learner-centered environment which includes preparing, reviewing and/or updating course material
• Marking, grading, and evaluation of student work
• Travel to rural sites for labs and clinical instruction
• Providing ongoing feedback, guidance, and assistance to students
• Actively contributing and participating in program planning, curriculum review, project work, and scholarly activity
• Participating in School and Polytechnic-wide initiatives and/or committees
• Upholding the Professional Responsibilities of Faculty atRDP which are described within the Faculty Performance Policy
• Demonstrating and promotingRDP organizational values and followingRDP policies and practices.
