Job summary

CDI College Surrey Campus is seeking a part-time Nursing Instructor (LPN/RN) to deliver instructional sessions onsite at the Surrey campus. The role requires clinical nursing experience, active BCCNM registration, and a willingness to pursue PID credentials if needed.

You will evaluate students, support curriculum development, and supervise practicum activities while contributing to a positive student experience in a busy college setting.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered BCCNM registration (LPN or RN).
• Minimum 3 years total clinical experience, with at least 1 year in acute care.
• Degree or diploma from a recognized university or college in nursing or closely relevant discipline.
• Teaching credential or willingness to pursue the Provincial Instructor Diploma (PID).
• Previous teaching or clinical instruction experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently.

Practical Nursing / Nursing Instructor (LPN / RN)

Location: CDI College - Surrey Campus

Job Status: Ongoing Part-Time, Onsite

Start Date: ASAP

Working Hours: Up to 20 hours per week

Pay Rate: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour (LPN) | $40.00 - $42.00 per hour (RN)

Your Day-to-Day:

Instructional Delivery: Deliver instruction that meets module and program objectives as set out in the curriculum.

Student Evaluation: Evaluate student performance fairly, consistently, and in accordance with program standards.

Curriculum Support: Contribute to the continuous development and refinement of curriculum and instructional materials.

Campus & College Operations: Support the administrative functions of the campus to enhance the overall student experience, participating in college and program activities while upholding college standards.

Clinical Supervision & Practicum: Monitor, review, and evaluate students during practicum and/or clinical placements as required by the program.

Skill Facilitation: Facilitate learning on exacerbations of chronic illnesses, acute illness presentations, and skill consolidation (including post-operative care, surgical wound management, IV therapy, and focused assessments).

Acute Care Mentorship: Deliver clinical teaching over scheduled hours, track attendance, enforce student safety during clinical hours, and advocate for student learning in acute care settings.

What You Bring to the Table:

Professional Registration: Active, unencumbered registration with BCCNM (as an LPN or RN).

Clinical Experience: Minimum of 3 years of total clinical experience, with at least 1 year in an acute care setting.

Education: Degree or diploma from a recognized university or college in nursing or a closely relevant discipline.

Teaching Credentials: A credential in adult education (or a willingness to pursue the Provincial Instructor Diploma / PID at an accredited post-secondary institution).

Teaching Experience: Previous teaching, preceptors, or clinical instruction experience is considered a strong asset.
