Job summary

Gabriel Dumont Institute seeks a Clinical Instructor for the Practical Nursing Program in Saskatoon. You will teach and guide adult nursing students with a mix of practical, theoretical, and clinical instruction, focusing on acute and long-term care settings.

You will plan, deliver, and support nursing skills courses, supervise labs, participate in meetings, and assist with onboarding. Eligibility includes RN with active CRNS, TLR, and CPR/BLS, with preferred acute/long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a Degree in Nursing and active CRNS registration.
• Up-to-date TLR, First Aid/CPR/BLS, as applicable.
• Two years of recent acute or long-term care experience would be an asset.
• Flexibility and the ability to work with diverse equity groups.

Responsibilities:

To provide practical, theoretical and clinical instruction of the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Practical Nursing program to 7 adult Practical Nursing students at Luthercare Home in Saskatoon. Instructor will provide program support for adult students in the areas of long term and acute care settings. Ensure the planning and delivery of nursing skills courses and instructional assistance with labs. Attend scheduled meetings and other duties as assigned. Onboarding and orientation will be provided.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse with a Degree in Nursing. Eligible for registration (active status) with the CRNS and have up to date TLR, First Aid/CPR/BLS etc., subject to approval by Saskatchewan Polytechnic. The instructor will have excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Two (2) years of recent acute care or long term care would be considered an asset. Flexibility and the ability to work with people from various equity groups is required.

Clinical dates:

December 1,3,4,10,11,15,16, – 8 hour shifts
