Job summary

Northern Lights College seeks a temporary, full-time instructor to deliver APN 136: Consolidated Practice Experience A in Dawson Creek, BC (Rotary Manor). Salary ranges from CAD 45.60 to CAD 56.75 per hour, with additional pay components for temporary employees.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Diploma in Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or another relevant undergraduate degree or professional qualification may be considered.
• Current practicing license as an LPN, RPN, RN or NP with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives with no limits or conditions or another relevant professional license.
• Minimum three to five years (full-time equivalent) of recent Canadian nursing experience.
• Completed course work in Indigenous cultural safety and humility.

Responsibilities

• Deliver APN 136: Consolidated Practice Experience A in clinical settings.
• Provide care to ageing clients and/or those with chronic illness in residential care facilities.
• Administer medications, perform nursing care, health assessment, wound care and introduction to leadership.
• Collaborate with the Health Sciences Department and instructional team to foster evidence-informed practice.

Reporting to:Dean of Health Sciences & Human Services

Salary:

$45.60 - $56.75/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay. The period of campus closure that occurs between Christmas and New Year's Day is unpaid time.

Northern Lights College's Practical Nursing Program is seeking a temporary, full-time instructor to deliver APN 136: Consolidated Practice Experience A. This clinical experience provides learners with the opportunity to integrate theory from the Access level into practice. Learners will practice with ageing clients and/or those with chronic illness in residential care settings. Medication administration, nursing care, organization, comprehensive health assessment, wound care and introduction to leadership are emphasized in this course.

Schedule:

• Preparation time begins: Feb 8
• Instruction dates with Students: Feb 16 – Mar 12

As a member of the Health Sciences Department, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive instructional team. You are expected to pursue excellence in teaching by incorporating diverse instructional strategies and fostering a learning environment rooted in inquiry, reflection, and evidence-informed practice

Qualifications:

Required:
