Livingstone Range School Division No 68 for WA Day Elementary School in Fort Macleod, AB is seeking a part-time permanent Housekeeper for 4 hours daily after 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential for extra evening or weekend hours.

The role involves interacting positively with staff and the public, maintaining a clean, safe site, and supporting school operations under supervision of the Health & Safety Coordinator, Head Custodian, and Principal.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and disinfect washrooms, fixtures, and partitions.
• Clean, sanitize, and disinfect furniture, counters, doors, and other surfaces.
• Dust and clean windows and window coverings.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors.
• Lock doors and windows and secure division buildings.
• Garbage collection and nightly removal.
• Preventative maintenance – tighten furniture or change light bulbs.
• Snow and ice removal from doorways if needed.

WA Day Elementary School, Fort Macleod

Livingstone Range School Division is accepting applications for a Part‑Time Permanent Housekeeper (4 hours per day)

Shift starts after 3:30 pm; Monday to Friday, with the possibility of additional hours in evenings or on weekends.

The applicant must be able to communicate and interact positively with the public, co‑workers, staff, and administration to ensure all needs are addressed at the site.

Typical duties of a Housekeeper include but are not limited to:

• Cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting washrooms, fixtures, and partitions
• Cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting furniture, counters, doors, and other surfaces
• Dusting and cleaning windows and window coverings
• Operating and maintaining custodial equipment
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and maintaining floors
• Locking doors and windows and securing of Division buildings
• Garbage collection and nightly removal
• Preventative maintenance – tightening furniture or changing light bulbs
• Snow and ice removal from doorways if needed

Housekeeping work may include physical demands, e.g., lifting chairs, moving furniture or boxes of materials, and climbing stairs/ladders. The daily work routine involves the use of various cleaning chemicals.

This position will report to the Health and Safety Coordinator or designate, the School Head Custodian as well as the School Principal. The ability to work independently and secure the facilities is essential.

Conditions of Employment

• A satisfactory police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment.
