Job summary

Taylor View Towers in Red Deer seeks a Hospitality Aide to support dining, social, housekeeping, and recreation activities for 300+ residents. You will contribute to a person-directed care model rooted in Eden Alternative philosophy and support meaningful daily experiences for Residents.

Qualifications include Grade 12 Diploma; hospitality or related experience is an asset. Food Safe and WHMIS are also assets. This role requires English fluency and strong teamwork in a community setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily life in the Community, including meals, light housekeeping, activities, and learning circles.
• Provide high-quality hospitality services aligned with Well-Being Strategies.
• Plan and participate in celebrations and spontaneous events with Residents.
• Engage Residents and families with meaningful conversations and support.
• Support team with training, mentorship, and ongoing learning circles.
• Identify health, safety or maintenance issues and report them as required.

Summary Statement

The Hospitality Aide plays a pivotal role in making the dining, social,housekeeping, and recreational experiences within our Community meaningful andpurposeful.

Key Responsibility Areas

Resident Lifestyle Support

• Conducts ongoing solicitation, surveys, and measurement of feedback.Implementation of Care Partner suggestions, interactive problem solving, and anannual evaluation
• Assists with daily life within the Community, as needed, such as servingmeals, doing light housekeeping in the food service area, assisting Residents,supporting spontaneous activities, and leading Learning Circles
• Provides high-quality services for the Residents that are consistent withthe Well-Being Strategies
• Promotes involvement by Residents in meaningful activities
• Collaborates with the Community team to plan and participate in specialcelebrations and spontaneous events
• Engages in meaningful conversations with Residents and family members
• Collaborates with the team to facilitate the highest level of hospitalityservice for the Resident

Administration

• Prepares reports and checklists as required
• Plans, develops, and implements expansion in program services
• Monitors key measurable indicators of daily operations
• Reports and responds to concerns/issues as they relate to services withinthe Community

Training and Support

• Acts as a team builder, coach, mentor, active listener, facilitator,teacher, and an important resource to our Community
• Engages all Care Partners in all aspects of hospitality experiences,helping everyone become well-known to one another
• Participates in ongoing educational programs
• Attends and participates in Community Learning Circles, meetings andevents
• Maintains appropriate levels of certification (As required)

Health & Safety

• Understands and participates in the Emergency Management Plan, InfectionControl protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety Wellness Strategies
• Reports all health, safety or maintenance items as required
• Provides a safe and sanitary environment for all Care Partners and makesevery effort to reduce safety hazards, accidents and injuries
• Identifies any health, safety or maintenance issues, andreports/documents as required

Projects and Assignments

• Performs a variety of other projects and assignments as required

Qualifications

Education

Grade 12 Diploma or recognized equivalent is required.

Experience

• Experience in hospitality, food service, or recreation is an asset
