Job summary

Taylor View Towers in Red Deer, AB, is seeking a Hospitality Aide to support dining, social, housekeeping and recreational activities for more than 300 residents.

You will work under the guidance of the Food Services Supervisor, helping with daily life, activities, and special events while promoting Well-Being strategies and a compassionate, person-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma or recognized equivalent is required.
• Experience in hospitality, food service, or recreation is an asset.
• Food Safe Certificate and WHMIS are assets.

Responsibilities

• Assists with dining, social, housekeeping, and recreational activities for Residents.
• Supports daily life within the Community and helps with hospitality services.
• Participates in celebrations and events and engages Residents and families.
• Maintains health, safety, and sanitation in the Community.

The Hospitality Aide plays a pivotal role in making the dining, social,housekeeping, and recreational experiences within our Community meaningful andpurposeful.

Key Responsibility Areas

Resident Lifestyle Support

• Conducts ongoing solicitation, surveys, and measurement of feedback.Implementation of Care Partner suggestions, interactive problem solving, and anannual evaluation
• Assists with daily life within the Community, as needed, such as servingmeals, doing light housekeeping in the food service area, assisting Residents,supporting spontaneous activities, and leading Learning Circles
• Provides high-quality services for the Residents that are consistent withthe Well-Being Strategies
• Promotes involvement by Residents in meaningful activities
• Collaborates with the Community team to plan and participate in specialcelebrations and spontaneous events
• Engages in meaningful conversations with Residents and family members
• Collaborates with the team to facilitate the highest level of hospitalityservice for the Resident

Administration

• Prepares reports and checklists as required
• Plans, develops, and implements expansion in program services
• Monitors key measurable indicators of daily operations
• Reports and responds to concerns/issues as they relate to services withinthe Community

Training and Support

• Acts as a team builder, coach, mentor, active listener, facilitator,teacher, and an important resource to our Community
• Engages all Care Partners in all aspects of hospitality experiences,helping everyone become well-known to one another
• Participates in ongoing educational programs
• Attends and participates in Community Learning Circles, meetings andevents
• Maintains appropriate levels of certification (As required)

Health & Safety

• Understands and participates in the Emergency Management Plan, InfectionControl protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety Wellness Strategies
• Reports all health, safety or maintenance items as required
• Provides a safe and sanitary environment for all Care Partners and makesevery effort to reduce safety hazards, accidents and injuries
• Identifies any health, safety or maintenance issues, andreports/documents as required

Projects and Assignments

• Performs a variety of other projects and assignments as required

Qualifications

Education

Grade 12 Diploma or recognized equivalent is required.

Experience

• Experience in hospitality, food service, or recreation is an asset

Certifications

• Food Safe Certificate is an asset
