Job summary

Great Canadian Entertainment is hiring for a cash handler role across our dining and casino service environments in Milton, Canada. You will process guest bills at the POS, handle cash with accuracy, and maintain a clean cashier area while ensuring service standards and safety policies are followed.

The position requires at least 1 year of cash handling, POS experience, and the ability to obtain a Gaming License. Strong communication and MS Office skills are important for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required; post secondary hospitality or hotel education is an asset.
• Minimum 1 year cash handling experience.
• POS experience is required.
• Ability to obtain a Gaming License.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Computer literacy in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Enter guest bills into the POS system.
• Count out change and give to guests.
• Explain pricing to guests when requested for clarification.
• Maintain cleanliness of the cashier stand and area.
• Manage own cash float and count cash at end of shift.
• Perform opening and closing duties as required.
• Restock snacks and supplies as applicable.
• Ensure adequate napkins, cutlery, and supplies.
• Coordinate table availability with bussing staff.
• Assist with bussing during slower periods.
• Liaise with operational departments to ensure smooth service.
• Build strong relationships with guests, ownership, and team members.
• Comply with licensing laws, health and safety, and other regulations.

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, F&B, this position is responsible for managing the guest bills with the strictest regard to rules, regulations and outlet operational guidelines while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. This position may serve at a counter, in a restaurant, coffee shop, on a casino floor or other areas. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian’s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

• Enters guest bills into the POS
• Counts out change and gives to the guest
• Explains pricing to guests when requested for clarification
• Maintains the cleanliness of the cashier stand and area
• Maintains own cash float and count s cash float at end of shift
• Performs opening and closing duties as required
• Restocks potato chips, candy, etc. (if applicable)
• Ensures an adequate stock of napkins, cutlery, etc.; replenishes when necessary
• Ensures tab le availability by communicating with bussing staff
• Assists with bussing duties during slower periods
• Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
• Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and team members
• Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education And Qualifications

• High School Diploma; Post Secondary hospitality or hotel education an asset
• Minimum 1 year cash handling
• POS experience
• Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
• Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
