Peace River School Division is seeking a Part-Time Educational Assistant (0.85 FTE) at Manning Aurora Composite School in Manning, Alberta. The role focuses on targeted literacy and numeracy support for small groups of students in Grades 1-6, starting when a suitable candidate is found and continuing through June 29, 2027.

The incumbent will work with a K-12 school community in a unionized CUPE Local 4839 environment, with benefits after probation and at 0.50 FTE or greater.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Experience working directly with young children (Grades 1-6 preferred).
• Experience and understanding of foundational literacy and numeracy concepts (e.g. phonics, phonological awareness, early number sense).

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted literacy and numeracy support to small groups of Grades 1-6.
• Support classroom teachers and program coordinators through collaborative planning.
• Follow structured intervention plans and monitor progress.

Job description

Peace River School Division is seeking a highly motivated Part-Time (0.85 f.t.e.)Educational Assistant at Manning Aurora Composite School to provide targeted literacy and numeracy support to small groups of students in Grades 1-6. The position will commence when a suitable candidate has been found and continue to June 29, 2027.

Manning Aurora Composite is a K-12 school in northern Alberta.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
• Experience working directly with young children (Grades 1-6 preferred)
• Experience and understanding of foundational literacy and numeracy concepts (e.g. phonics, phonological awareness, early number sense)

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and district office Program Coordinators

This is a union position under the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division.

Rate of Pay:

$22.59 to $28.02 per hour(dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
