Job summary

National Diabetes Trust is seeking a dedicated part-time Donations Pickup Driver to responsibly operate 3-ton straight trucks on established routes, collecting donated goods from homes and donation bins. You will deliver items to partners and storage facilities, while maintaining records and safety protocols.

The role emphasizes strong maps-reading skills, a valid Class 5/G license, and at least five years of driving experience.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read maps.
• Must have Full Class 5 and/or G license or higher, passenger car or light truck.
• Minimum of 5 years actual driving experience; 2 years with professional commercial vehicle training.

Responsibilities

• Drive established routes to collect donated clothing and household items.
• Deliver items to corporate partners and storage facilities.
• Complete daily paperwork and Hours-of-Service documentation.
• Check in with dispatch at start, mid-day and end of route.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle safety.
