Extendicare is seeking a part-time Personal Support Worker in Ottawa to provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents. You will follow the plan of care, assist with daily activities, monitor health changes, and maintain confidentiality while supporting a safe, clean environment and collaborative care with families.

The role requires a PSW certificate (Ontario/Alberta 600 hours) and experience with seniors in community health settings, plus strong communication in English and French.

Qualifications

• PSW program completion or provincial equivalent with minimum 600 hours theory & practicum (Ontario/Alberta).
• Experience with seniors in community health settings is required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time-management abilities.
• Interpersonal and customer focus skills are essential.
• Proficiency in both English and French is required.

Responsabilités

• Adhere to the plan of care determined by the supervisor.
• Assist residents with personal care, hygiene and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to the supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Respond to concerns and escalate as appropriate within authority.
• Support a safe and clean environment and proper handling of equipment.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to residents and families.
