Job summary

The Town of Whitby seeks a proactive Supervisor, Operations - Parks to oversee daily park division operations. You will lead a team, ensure safety, and drive continuous improvements, reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations - Parks.

This role requires strong leadership in a complex, unionized setting, with accountability for performance and budgets. You will coordinate staffing, equipment, safety training, and contractor oversight while addressing resident concerns and ensuring service

Qualifications

• Experience leading in a unionized environment.
• Strong leadership and accountability in supervisory roles.
• Ability to manage field operations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervising, planning and delivering the day-to-day operation;
• Providing input to long-term resource needs and strategic plans;
• Providing leadership, guidance and coaching to staff;
• Maintaining a visible field presence to ensure safety and service expectations;
• Overseeing compliance, SOPs, and training;
• Assisting with budgeting and capital/operating plans;
• Responding to resident and public inquiries and on-call emergencies.
