Job summary

Covenant House Vancouver is seeking a Youth Worker for the Crisis Program to support youth aged 16–24. You will build trusting relationships, assess immediate needs, and connect youth to resources within a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed practice and responding to emergencies with care. You will contribute by welcoming youth, orienting them to services, documenting progress, and coordinating activities, while maintaining professional boundaries and self-care.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with at risk youth and youth homelessness.
• Working knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
• Indigenous cultural safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist youth, assess needs, and provide practical resources.
• Develop and maintain relationships with at-risk youth 16–24.
• Complete program intake/admission and orient new youth.
• Collaborate with staff to plan goals and actions for youth.
• Assist youth with accessing external supports and accompany them if needed.
• Coordinate youth meetings and activities, including life skills.
• Respond to emergencies with trauma-informed care; provide crisis intervention.
• Manage youth case files and relevant reporting.
• Attend trainings and participate in on-site duties as required.
