Job summary

360°kids is seeking a Youth Worker to supervise youth overnight, ensuring basic needs and safety during crisis. You will assess immediate housing needs, coordinate with Housing Workers, and support residents in transitioning to stable housing.

Expect nightly room checks, intake using HIFIS/VISPDAT, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team. The role requires a post-secondary credential in a child/youth field or equivalent experience, 3+ years with at-risk youth, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary degree/diploma in a child/youth related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years’ experience working with at-risk or street involved youth.
• Experience using a case management system or HIFIS and VI-SPDAT an asset.
• Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Suicide Prevention training an asset.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification an asset.
• Current broad record check.
• Knowledge of CFSA regulatory environment.
• Client-focused counselling skills and role modelling.
• French language is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Supervise youth and meet basic needs during crisis.
• Assess immediate needs and assist with housing transitions.
• Refer to Housing Workers, ATS, and other supports as required.
• Provide ongoing daily support to break cycles of poverty and homelessness.
• Facilitate weekly resident meetings and document concerns.
• Respond to crises and conduct exit interviews as needed.
• Conduct intake using HIFIS and VISPDAT within 72 hours of admission.
• Support meal service and maintain a clean dining area.
• Provide reports to Team Leader and Manager of Programs.
