Job summary

The Calgary John Howard Society is seeking an Overnight Support Worker for Berkana House, a women-focused residential facility, to ensure safety and well-being during night hours. The role involves quiet supervision, supportive conversation, and modeling positive behaviours.

This 0.75 FTE position (30 hours/week) includes three 10-hour shifts Wednesday to Friday, with on-site duties and potential on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or relevant experience in the field.
• Understanding of women-centered practice in the criminal justice system.
• Ability to establish boundaries and communicate effectively.
• Experience with trauma-informed care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide night-time supervision and safety for residents.
• Offer supportive conversation and model positive behaviours.
• Be part of on-call rotation as required.
• Perform basic household chores.
