Job summary

Calgary John Howard Society is seeking an Overnight Support Worker for Bedford House, a 24/7 residential facility for men on federal conditional release. You will supervise residents, follow policies, and maintain safety and communication across shifts.

Applicants should have strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and boundary-setting skills. Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in the criminal justice system is preferred, CPIC clearance is required, and Brain Story

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in the criminal justice system.
• Good verbal and written communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care.
• Current CPIC background check required.
• Brain Story Certification considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise residents and Bedford House facility in accordance with policy.
• Perform all general shift duties during overnight awake shifts (9:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.).
• Maintain strong written and verbal communication.
• Be flexible to meet residents' needs while ensuring community safety.
• Respond to routine and crisis situations as needed.
