Job summary

The Calgary John Howard Society is seeking a Term Certain Part Time Awake Overnight Youth Worker at Raido House to support youth aged 15–24. You will help with housing stability, daily living skills, education and employment access, and safer substance use within a trauma-informed, home-like setting. This role runs Thursday to Saturday, 10:00 p.m.

to 8:00 a.m., totaling 30 hours per week. The contract is until June 27, 2027, and the position is benefit eligible.

Qualifications

Relevant degree or diploma from a recognized educational institution.
2+ years supporting at-risk individuals facing homelessness.
Thrives in fast-paced environments requiring creativity and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Creatively supporting and supervising the youth of Raido House within a trauma-informed, home-like environment.
Role modelling healthy behavior and developing plans to increase independent living skills.
Collaborating with Residential and Outreach Caseworkers to implement youth goal plans.
Navigating routine and crisis situations with a restorative approach.
Creating opportunities for youth programming, including recreational, educational, art therapy, and community involvement.
Completing referrals, assessments, crisis plans/risk assessments, case notes, and letters of support.
Attending to team responsibilities and maintaining a positive attitude.
Maintaining the residential environment with cleaning and organizing duties.
