Job summary

Promenade Optometric Clinic is seeking a dedicated Optometric Assistant to join our eye care team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care, support optometrists, and help ensure smooth clinic operations in a fast-paced medical environment.

Training will be provided; prior medical or optical experience is preferred. You must be available to work weekends and assist with check-in, paperwork, pre-tests, scheduling, and insurance verification while promoting optical products

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical office or optical setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care.
• Excellent patient care and compassionate communication.
• Ability to manage front desk tasks including scheduling and insurance verification.
• Retail sales experience for optical products is a plus.
• Experience with pediatric patients and age-appropriate communication.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Assist patients with initial paperwork and update EMRs accurately.
• Conduct pre-test procedures.
• Manage front desk duties including scheduling and insurance verification.
• Educate patients on optical products and assist with retail sales of glasses, contacts, and accessories.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinic and displays.
• Support pediatric patients with gentle care and appropriate communication.
