Prior experience in medical offices or optical settings is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate. The Optometric Assistant plays a vital role in managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic medical records, and supporting clinical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and checking patients in/out
• Assist with patient care activities, including preliminary testing and vision screenings
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records using systems such as Epic or similar platforms
• Prepare exam rooms and assist optometrists during eye examinations and procedures
• Educate patients on optical products, lens options, and frame selections to support retail sales efforts
• Manage inventory of optical supplies and assist with ordering as needed
• Support billing processes and insurance verifications related to patient visits
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and ensuring a positive experience

Qualifications

Compensation range

The expected compensation for the position is $20-$23 hourly. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate's credentials, experience and geographic location in which the position is located.
