Job summary

FYidoctors - Georgian Bay - Mosley St is seeking an Optometric Assistant for our Wasaga Beach clinic. This full-time fixed-term role (30–40 hours/week) runs through October 2027, with Monday–Friday hours and on-site work.

You will greet patients, perform pre-testing, help select eyewear, and support billing and appointments in a collaborative setting. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in optics, strong communication skills, and comfort with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years optical experience required.
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients, manage check-in/out, and engage with patients in person, by phone, or email.
• Perform pre-testing to support comprehensive eye care.
• Educate patients on eyewear options and assist with frame selection.
• Interpret optical prescriptions from the optometrist.
• Measure frames for proper fit and handle repairs and adjustments.
• Coordinate appointments and prepare prescription printouts.
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers, and third parties.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure a positive patient experience.
• Support clinic operations with additional duties as required.
