Job summary

LASIK MD in Surrey, BC invites an Ophthalmic Technician (Optician or Science graduate) to join a full-time pool in a patient-centered clinic. You will perform pre/postoperative measurements, review imaging, and explain procedures clearly to patients.

You’ll work with ophthalmology experts, enjoy a bonus program, and benefit from paid time off, insurance, RRSP match, and flexible day-time hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or equivalent training.
• Experience or training in ophthalmic procedures or imaging is a plus.
• Comfort with computers and clinical software; EMR knowledge is an asset.
• Excellent English communication and patient-care orientation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative and postoperative measurements with explanations.
• Review imaging maps to validate accuracy.
• Be knowledgeable about procedures and clinic technologies.

The wage range for this role is $27.69 - $33.23 p/hr.

Your tasks at a glance

• You complete preoperative and postoperative measurements, offering clear explanations to patients throughout the process.
• You review imaging maps to validate their accuracy.
• You are knowledgeable about procedures and technologies available in the clinic.
• You provide outstanding customer service and patient care.
• You support the organization’s Risk Management program by identifying and promptly reporting patient safety concerns, incidents, or potential risks to clinic management, to assist in the organization’s overall efforts to identify, report, and mitigate risks.

A clear view of your assets

• You are a graduate of a Bachelor's program in science (Bsc), an Opticianry program (license not required), a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), or a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT).
• You are comfortable with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365 (knowledge of EMR systems is an asset).
• You are motivated to learn how to use various diagnostic and testing tools.
• You have excellent communication skills in English.
• Your experience in an eye-care environment is an asset.
• Schedule: You have flexible availability on Monday to Friday, day-time.
