Job summary

TLC Laser EyeCentre in Calgary is seeking a patient-focused Ophthalmic Technician to support preoperative and postoperative care. You will review imaging maps, know procedures and technologies, and provide outstanding customer service and patient care.

Expect flexible scheduling Monday to Saturday with occasional Sundays, travel between TLC, LASIK MD, and Gimbel Eye Centre clinics in Calgary, and a competitive benefits package including a quarterly bonus and group insurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in a science field.
• Opticianry program (license not required) or related ophthalmic training.
• COT or COMT certification is preferred.
• Comfortable with computers and EMR systems; good tech aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative and postoperative measurements with clear patient explanations.
• Review imaging maps to validate accuracy.
• Be knowledgeable about clinic procedures and technologies.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and patient care.

Your tasks at a glance

• You complete preoperative and postoperative measurements, offering clear explanations to patients throughout the process.
• You review imaging maps to validatetheir accuracy.
• You are knowledgeable about procedures and technologies available in the clinic.
• You provide outstanding customer service and patient care.

A clear view of your assets

• You are a graduate of a Bachelor's program in science (Bsc), an Opticianry program (license not required), a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), or a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT).
• You are comfortable with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365 (knowledge of EMR systems is an asset).
• You are motivated tolearn how to use various diagnostic and testingtools.
• You have excellent communication skills in English.
• Your experience in an eye-care environment is an asset.
• Schedule : You have flexible work availability from Monday to Saturday, with occasional Sundays.
• Required : You can travel between our LASIK MD, TLC & Gimbel Eye Centre clinics in Calgary for work.
