Job summary

Irving Tissue in Dieppe seeks an Operations Technology Specialist to support plant networks and OT systems, reporting to Maintenance Manager and Corporate Manager of Operations Technology Systems. You will help keep OT networks up-to-date, cyber-safe, and compliant, and support data systems like PI/PARCview as required.

Bring a degree in networking or cybersecurity, 2–5 years manufacturing electrical experience, and familiarity with Rockwell FactoryTalk, PLCs, and related instruments.

Qualifications

• Degree in networking, cyber security or equivalent preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in the electrical field in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Experience in programming, instrumentation, and/or electronics is an asset.
• Familiarity with Rockwell Products such as FactoryTalk servers, PLCs, switches, etc. is an asset.
• Previous PLC experience, including installation and troubleshooting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for new product and technology introductions to the plant as well as for upgrades of OT Systems.
• Onsite liaison with JDI IT for any Operations Technology cyber events.
• Troubleshoot any production Operations Technology disturbances that may occur.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues to support and improve efficiency of the manufacturing Operations Technology controls.
• Promote preventive and predictive maintenance program for PLCs, OT network and switches.
• Create Preventive Maintenance plans in the CMMS for network performance and monitoring to achieve a successful program to ensure optimum performance.

Responsibilities

Directly reporting to the Maintenance Manager, with responsibility to the Corporate Manager of Operations Technology Systems, the Operations Technology Specialist will support operational process networks and systems for the Irving Tissue Dieppe and Irving Personal Care sites.

The position is responsible for ensuring the operational networks and systems are up-to-date, cyber-safe, stable, and compliant. In addition, responsibilities will include operational data systems (such as PI, PARCview, etc.) per the site requirements.
