Job summary

Irving Sawmills is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mill equipment to maximize uptime and safety at our Saint John facility in New Brunswick.

You will drive a Health & Safety culture, coordinate work orders, support preventive maintenance planning, and partner with operations to ensure equipment readiness. The role requires strong leadership and reliability improvement experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Trade Certification or Associate's Degree in a related technical field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory experience.
• Mechanical knowledge and experience in industry is mandatory.
• Hands on experience with predictive and preventative maintenance practices.
• Proven track record of reliability improvement initiatives.
• Project management and prioritization skills required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and JD Edwards E1 is an asset.
• Advanced computer skills and working knowledge of CMMS.
• Exposure to a manufacturing facility is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Lean Six Sigma training is an asset.

• Ensuring projects are in control and measuring savings
• Monitor, track and enhance current equipment availability
• Training and development of apprentices

Job description

In this position, you will supervise a team responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mill equipment to maximize uptime and ensure safe production. You'll coordinate work orders, support preventative maintenance planning, and partner closely with operations mangers to ensure equipment readiness. The salary range for this position will be $70,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
