Job summary

Anthem Properties is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a 450,000 sq ft outdoor shopping centre in Burnaby, BC, including 150,000 sq ft of office space. You will schedule daily tasks, supervise the maintenance team, and ensure work meets Anthem standards.

Requirements include a 4th Class Power Engineering Certification, 7+ years of facilities operations, 3+ years of supervision, and strong knowledge of electrical, HVAC and life safety systems.

Qualifications

• 4th Class Power Engineering Certification is required.
• Minimum 7 years of team operations experience in mixed-use facilities.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of a 450,000 sq ft outdoor shopping centre, including 150,000 sq ft of office space.
• Schedule daily work assignments for maintenance staff.
• Develop and maintain a computerized preventative maintenance program.
• Monitor HVAC, electrical, life safety and other critical systems.
• Supervise contractors and ensure quality of work and safety policies.
• Assist with annual operating and capital budgets and tenant relationships.

You will

• Be accountable for the day-to-day operations of a 450,000 square foot outdoor shopping centre, including 150,000 sf of office space, and ensure it is well maintained and operated to Anthem standards

• Coordinate completion of all maintenance tasks by scheduling daily work assignments for team members

• Develop and oversee implementation and maintenance of a computerized preventative maintenance program

• Monitor performance and trouble shoot mall HVAC, electrical, mechanical, life safety, vertical transportation and other equipment

• Oversee performance of required legislative and diagnostic testing on equipment (i.e. emergency generator, sprinkler flows, etc.)

• Oversee construction and service contractors work for quality of workmanship and adherence to scope of work, and meet with contractors, as required

• Ensure maintenance logs and schedules are completed

• Lead of the maintenance team and provide supervision to direct reports, including performance discussions

• Oversee the adherence to the company’s health and safety policies, manage investigations of environmental and health and safety incidents, reporting and oversight of team training

• Assist with preparation and implementation of annual operating and capital budgets

• Establish strong relationships with tenants and provide a proactive, exemplary level of service

• Work collaboratively with other team members in leasing, asset management and construction, and all other stakeholders

• Be on call for property emergencies

• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Property Manager

You have

• A 4th Class Power Engineering Certification

• A minimum of 7 years’ team operational experience of mixed-use facilities

• A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience

• Proven working knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems, life safety, building automation control and water treatment

• Experience with management of computerized preventative maintenance programs

• Experience with supervision of capital programs

• Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word

• Strong time management, organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)

• A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Salary range

• $95,000 - $110,000 dependent on experience
