GTA AirSkip in Mississauga, ON is seeking an Operations Specialist to join the growing Operations team. This full-time, on-site role focuses on managing daily movement of shipments across the GTA AirSkip network, coordinating with warehouse teams, airline partners, ground carriers, and customs.

GTA AirSkip is a Canadian logistics company specializing in expedited air transportation and end-to-end e-commerce logistics solutions. From air freight and customs clearance to ground transportation and final-mile delivery, we help retailers, e-commerce platforms, freight forwarders, logistics companies, and 3PL partners move shipments efficiently across Canada and beyond.

Role Description

We are looking for an Operations Specialist to join our growing Operations team in Mississauga, ON.

This is a full-time, on-site role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, is highly organized, enjoys solving problems, and takes ownership of getting shipments where they need to go.

The Operations Specialist will help manage the day-to-day movement of shipments across the GTA AirSkip network, working closely with our warehouse teams, airline partners, ground carriers, customs teams, final-mile partners, customers, and internal departments.

As GTA AirSkip continues to grow, this position will also have the opportunity to contribute to new customer implementations, operational projects, process improvements, and the continued development of our network.

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, comfortable working under pressure, and willing to jump in wherever needed to get the job done.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor daily inbound and outbound shipments across our transportation network.
  • Track and trace shipments from origin through final delivery, ensuring service commitments and key milestones are met.
  • Coordinate with airlines, ground carriers, warehouses, customs teams, final-mile partners, and other service providers.
  • Proactively identify shipment delays, exceptions, or operational issues and work quickly to resolve them.
  • Escalate critical operational issues when required and coordinate solutions across multiple teams.
  • Maintain accurate shipment information, operational records, and documentation within internal systems.
  • Verify shipping documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate pickups, transfers, linehaul movements, and final-mile delivery requirements.
  • Provide clear and timely shipment updates to internal teams, customers, and external partners.
  • Work closely with Customer Service, Customs, Warehouse, and other internal departments to ensure seamless shipment execution.
  • Support daily operational reporting and monitor service performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, operational efficiency, and service quality.
  • Support new customer implementations and operational projects.
  • Ensure operations are performed in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable transportation regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, air freight, freight forwarding, e-commerce fulfillment, or a related field is preferred.
  • Air cargo or airport operations experience is considered an asset.
  • A valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) is preferred and considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive logistics environment.
  • Comfortable working with transportation systems, shipment data, and technology.
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • A proactive, accountable, and solution-oriented approach to work.
