McDougall Energy Inc. is seeking a results-driven Operations Manager to oversee daily fuel distribution activities and drive operational efficiency.

This leadership role requires guiding the operations team, maintaining safety standards, and delivering excellent service to customers. With 5–10 years in progressive management, you’ll manage route planning, inspections, and reporting while balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic energy environment.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of progressive management experience in the fuel/energy sector.
• Ability to lead and motivate employees to deliver superior customer service.
• Understanding of fleet operations logistics and industry regulations.
• Strong problem solving, communication and computer skills.
• Solid time management and organization skills, including balancing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coach, lead, mentor and manage the operations team to ensure safe, effective and efficient delivery and service activities.
• Ensure customer service levels are met and product is delivered safely and professionally.
• Ensure route efficiencies and optimal utilization of equipment.
• Monitor and manage operational KPIs; implement actions for inefficiencies and improvements.
• Manage and control operational expenditures in line with the budget.
• Complete audits and inspections; ensure action items meet regulatory and company standards.
• Prepare operational, financial and safety reporting as directed by management.
• Ensure all team members are trained and adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate and resolve issues with other departments to find solutions.
• Respond to emergencies, including spills, vehicle accidents and injuries.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

McDougall Energy is looking for a results-driven and experienced leader to fill the position of Operations Manager. This is a visible member of the Operations team, responsible for overseeing daily fuel distribution activities and ensuring operational efficiency across all service areas.

Responsibilities include:

• Coaches, leads, mentors and manages the operations team to ensure that all delivery and service activities are conducted safely, effectively, and efficiently.
• Ensure all customer service levels are met and product is delivered in a safe and professional manner
• Ensure route efficiencies and optimal utilization of equipment
• Monitor and manage all established operational KPI’s, implement actions for inefficiencies and work improvements
• Manage and control operational expenditures in accordance with our budget
• Ensure audits and inspections are complete; ensure all action items are completed as per regulatory requirements and company standards
• Prepare all required operational, financial and safety reporting as set out by management
• Ensure all team members are trained; adhere to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures, legislation and industry regulations
• Communicate and problem-solve any reported issues with other departments to find a solution
• Respond to all emergency situations, including spills, vehicle accidents and injuries

ABOUT YOU:

• 5 to 10 years of progressive management experience, ideally in the fuel/propane/ energy sector
• Working knowledge of oil, gas and liquid fuel requirements is an asset
• Proven ability to lead and motivate employees to deliver superior customer service
• Understanding of fleet operations logistics and industry regulations
• Strong problem solving, communication and computer skills
• Solid time management and organization skills, including the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities and work under pressure
