We're seeking a permanent full-time Operations Manager to join our team in Cochrane, Alberta.

ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the primary role of the Operations Manager is to lead procurement and planning within a demand-driven supply model. The focus will be on executing the corporate strategic plan, supporting growth and expansion targets. The Operations Manager will develop and implement the company's procurement philosophy, material readiness, and utilize Material Resource Planning (MRP). Responsibilities include managing and planning goods and materials, creating forecasts for inventory management, strategic ordering, and vendor selection.

This role involves establishing a process model with inventory and operations, mitigating risks, and maximizing production throughput. The person will support the team in leveraging Acumatica, especially concerning MRP, inventory, sales orders, production orders, BOMs, and purchase order accuracy.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  1. Analyze forecast vs capacity for production scheduling within the S&OP model.
  2. Estimate materials and labor required for global production periodically.
  3. Oversee development of production plans for Alberta, European, and Taiwan factories aligned with strategic initiatives and business objectives, considering constraints.
  4. Act as liaison between factories and the Operations team to ensure production targets are met.
  5. Coordinate and monitor daily operations activities.
  6. Support procurement practices aligned with strategic goals.
  7. Manage production planning schedules and adjust to meet targets.
  8. Ensure inventory levels are adequate and communicate risks using Acumatica reports.
  9. Handle approvals, transfers, and inventory-related transactions.
  10. Resolve operational issues promptly and address exceptions as needed.
  11. Analyze root causes of malfunctions and implement timely resolutions.
  12. Recommend process, structure, and tool improvements for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  13. Manage procurement and supply chain team members.
  14. Lead supply chain management, planning, and execution systems.
  15. Use data analysis and reporting tools to forecast supply needs.
  16. Monitor market developments for sourcing materials.
  17. Create and monitor materials requirements plans and forecasts.
  18. Establish and track KPIs for supply chain performance and implement improvements.
  19. Report regularly to senior management and stakeholders.
  20. Align supply chain performance with company revenue goals.
  21. Maintain strict inventory control to meet demand.
  22. Manage annual supply chain budget and conduct inventory audits.
  23. Lead and develop the supply chain team, including hiring, training, and evaluations.
  24. Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • SCMP designation or pursuit preferred.
  • Over 5 years of experience in supply chain management or forecasting.
  • Leadership experience managing teams.
  • Strong decision-making aligned with company goals.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Acumatica, and MRP software.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics concepts.
  • Advanced procurement and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with shipping, logistics, vendor performance, and related systems.
  • Financial and business acumen.
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions in dynamic environments.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Primarily based in Cochrane, with a flexible schedule including some international calls. Some travel may be required; a valid passport is necessary.
