Job summary

AAA Canada in Mississauga is seeking an experienced Operations Lead to oversee production activities in a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment. You will lead a team of about 25 technicians, manage daily operations, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery, while fostering development and succession planning within a unionized

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Aeronautics Manufacturing Operations, Production Management, Engineering Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience managing performance metrics and achieving production objectives.
• Flexibility to work Afternoon Shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support a team of approximately 25 technicians in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily operational activities to ensure production objectives are met.
• Monitor and drive performance against production schedules and key milestones.
• Manage departmental budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Maintain the highest standards of product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators including productivity, quality, health & safety, absenteeism, and operational efficiency.
• Identify operational challenges and implement effective, timely solutions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless production flow.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Support employee training, development, performance management, and succession planning.
• Foster a positive work environment built on teamwork, accountability, and open communication.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to develop employee skills and career growth.
• Demonstrate strong leadership while promoting company values and operational objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or degree in Aeronautics Manufacturing Operations, Production Management, Engineering Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.

• Proven ability to manage personnel with confidence, professionalism, and accountability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Experience managing performance metrics and achieving production objectives.
• Flexibility to work Afternoon Shift.

Preferred

• Aircraft Assembly and/or Final Assembly Line (FAL) experience.
• Experience working against production milestones and delivery schedules.
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary aircraft manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Operational Excellence methodologies.
• Aerospace industry experience is highly desirable.
