Job summary

AAA Canada is seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Inspector to ensure compliance with airworthiness and customer quality requirements. You will inspect detail parts and assemblies, manage nonconforming material, and support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and supply chain.

The role requires a hands-on background in inspection or production, with knowledge of aerospace drawings and measurement techniques, and familiarity with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years aerospace-specific quality inspection experience.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in inspection, production, or handling product roles.
• TC accredited College Diploma in Aeronautics is an asset; AME license is an asset.
• Technical degree or diploma in Aerospace Engineering is an asset.
• Experience with CAR 561/571 and CAR Std. 57/561 is an asset.
• Experience with IFS ERP (or similar) for control and issue of aeronautical parts is an asset.

• Acquire knowledge of process specifications and materials.
• Implement and continually improve product inspection plans.
• Perform in-process and final inspection of parts and assemblies; document and retain records.
• Ensure products, processes and services meet airworthiness and customer quality requirements.
• Manage nonconforming material control per quality assurance procedures.
• Support quality reviews of Engineering Masters.
• Collaborate with quality, methods, design engineering and supply chain to resolve issues and implement root cause corrective actions.
• Control monitoring and measuring devices per quality assurance procedures.
• Participate actively as a quality assurance team member.
• Monitor, measure and communicate product and process metrics.
• Propose and support QA improvement projects.
• Support corrective action requests from nonconforming trend analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Acquire knowledge of process specifications and materials
• Implementation and continual improvement of product inspection plans
• Perform in-process and final inspection of detail parts, minor and structural assemblies, plans their execution, documentation, and record retention
• Perform inspection duties to ensure all products, processes and services comply with applicable airworthiness, Company, or customer quality requirements
• Manage nonconforming material control in accordance with company's quality assurance procedures
• Provide assistance in quality review of Engineering Masters
• Liaise with quality engineering, methods engineering, design engineering and supply chain to develop resolutions and implement root cause corrective actions to technical or quality problems
• Manage the control of monitoring and measuring (inspection and test) devices in accordance with established company's quality assurance procedures
• Actively participate and contribute as a member of the quality assurance team
• Monitoring, measuring and communicating product and process metrics
• Propose and support improvement projects related to quality assurance procedures
• Participate and support corrective action request as a result of nonconforming trend analysis

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years aerospace specific quality inspection and or equivalent
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in an inspection, production, or handling product role
• Transport Canada accredited College Diploma in Aeronautics is an asset
• Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's license (AME) is an asset
• Technical degree or diploma in Aerospace Engineering is an asset
• Experience in the maintenance of De Havilland DHC1 thru DHC6 aircraft types is an asset
• Working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulation CAR 561, 571 and CAR Std. 57,561
• Understanding of Certificates of Conformance (CofC) issues by part makers and Airworthiness Release Certificates (FAA 8130/TCAA Form One/Easa Form 1)
• Experience in continuous improvement
• IFS ERP system experience (or similar i.e. Total FBO, TRAX etc.) for the control and issue of aeronautical parts and materials is an asset

Skills

• Must have a strong attention to detail skills
• Knowledge and ability to read and understand complex aircraft design drawings/blueprints and perform measurements/testing of parts made to these designs
• Strong focus on both internal and external customer service with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
