Job summary

The Peninsular and Ocean Steam Navigation Company is seeking a detail‑oriented operations analyst in Surrey, BC. You will monitor performance against budgets, provide daily KPI updates to management, and assist in budgeting for the container yard with productivity targets and staffing needs.

You will also address policy breaches, resolve customer issues, and maintain positive relations with the labor force.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Proven ability to exercise judgment within defined practices and policies.
  • Motivation and the capability to work on your own initiative while contributing to the team.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience with Canadian industries.

  • This position may require shift work which is subject to change with notice based on business needs.


Knowledge & Qualifications


  • A degree in business, logistics or similar field is preferred.

  • Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills, with attention to detail so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.

  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, and the proven ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.

  • Proven ability to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for achieving desired results.

  • Motivation and the capability of working on own your initiative while contributing to the team.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.
