Watson Building Supplies Inc. in Belleville, Ontario is seeking a motivated Boom Truck Operator to transport materials to job sites and place them where needed, while upholding safety and efficiency standards.

You will perform pre-trip checks, operate a boom crane, and ensure proper load securing and timely delivery. Responsibilities include vehicle and crane maintenance, coordinating with dispatch and customers on site, and following all company policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• DZ/AZ driver's license with a clean driving record and at least two years of driving experience.
• 0–8-ton mobile crane certification with at least one year of crane experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Experience with basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform circle-checks and complete logbook entries.
• Transport loads following road rules and uphold company standards.
• Maintain vehicle and crane equipment.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Deliver materials safely to job sites and maintain safety, service and efficiency.
• Operate the boom crane safely during loading and unloading.
• Communicate with customers and other trades on site.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff.
• Follow all regulations and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Position Summary:

We are currently looking for a highly motivatedBoom Truck Operator. The Boom Truck Operator transports products to job sites and places these materials in requested work locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform circle-checks and complete logbook entries.
• Transport loads in a professional manner, following the road rules and representing the company to the highest standards.
• Ensure proper vehicle and boom/ mobile crane maintenance and servicing.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency.
• Safe operation of the boom/ mobile crane while loading and unloading.
• Communicate with customers and other trades on construction sites.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications

• Valid DZ/AZdriver’s license (or equivalent) with a minimum oftwo years of experienceand aclean driver’s abstract.
• 0–8-ton mobile crane certification with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Practical written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs.
• Sitting and driving for long periods.
• Frequently climbing up and downstairs.
• Pulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials between truck and job site.
