Job summary

Gypsum Management & Supply, Inc. (GMS) in Burlington, Ontario, is seeking a Boom Truck Operator to transport materials to job sites and place them as directed. The role uses a piece-work pay structure and requires safe operation and customer service.

The ideal candidate holds a valid DZ/AZ license with at least two years of driving experience and a 0–8 ton mobile crane certification, plus strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Valid DZ/AZ driver’s license with a clean abstract.
• 0–8 ton mobile crane certification with experience.
• Practical written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform circle-checks and logbook entries.
• Transport loads in a professional manner, following road rules.
• Ensure proper vehicle and boom/ crane maintenance and servicing.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Deliver materials to customers with emphasis on safety and efficiency.
• Safe operation of the boom/ mobile crane during loading/unloading.
• Communicate with customers and other trades on sites.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and resolve issues.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff.
• Follow all regulations, policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
