Job summary

Natural Factors in Canada is seeking an Operational Procurement Category Specialist to ensure supply continuity for production materials, including raw materials, bulk products, and subcontract manufacturing. You will manage purchase orders, perform MRP analysis, expediting critical orders, and drive supplier performance.

The role is a permanent full-time position with a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, and a hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or business/operations management.
  • Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems, BOM/WIP processes, and lean principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and ERP systems (SYSPRO preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRP analysis and manage purchase orders to ensure material availability.
  • Collaborate with vendors to meet production schedules and improve service levels.
  • Expedite critical orders and source alternatives for supply-risk items.
  • Conduct quarterly supplier reviews and implement strategies to mitigate supply risks.
  • Optimize inventory levels by maintaining buying parameters and supporting process improvements.

Job description

We are seeking an Operational Procurement Category Specialist to ensure the continuity of supply for all production materials, including raw materials, bulk products, and subcontract manufacturing. Responsibilities include managing purchase orders, performing MRP analysis, expediting critical orders, optimizing inventory, and driving supplier performance.

Contract & Hours

Permanent Full-Time (40 hours)

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (flexible); Hybrid

In this role, you will:
  • Perform MRP analysis and manage purchase orders to ensure material availability.
  • Collaborate with vendors to meet production schedules and improve service levels.
  • Expedite critical orders and source alternatives for supply-risk items.
  • Conduct quarterly supplier reviews and implement strategies to mitigate supply risks.

You have:

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills; CPIM/CSCP certification is an asset.
