Job summary

Weir in Port Hope, Ontario, is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead day-to-day foundry operations across rotating shifts (6a-2p, 2p-10p, 10p-6a). You will oversee safety, production, and continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor, with 60% floor time and 40% office tasks.

The role demands 5+ years of supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing, strong Lean/CI knowledge, and effective leadership and communication skills to drive a high‑performing team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing such as foundry, construction, mining, or heavy industrial sectors
• Experience working in a unionized workforce environment
• Strong knowledge and application of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills with a proactive, engaged approach

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day foundry operations across multiple shifts
• Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders and production employees to build a high‑performing, engaged workforce
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor labor and resources to meet production schedules and operational targets
• Apply Lean manufacturing principles and structured problem‑solving to identify root causes and sustain improvements
• Maintain 100% commitment to safety and PPE compliance across shifts
