Job summary

Weir is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for Foundry Operations in Port Hope, Ontario. This on-site role covers rotating shifts (6a-2p, 2p-10p, 10p-6a) with a hands-on floor presence and office time. You will lead a team in a unionized, heavy manufacturing setting, driving Lean improvements and safety excellence.

You will oversee production, coach Team Leaders, ensure schedules, and report on safety and equipment status daily. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing (foundry/mining/industrial)
• Experience working in a unionized workforce environment
• Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day foundry operations across multiple shifts.
• Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders and production employees.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor labor and resources to meet schedules and targets.
• Conduct shift-start safety talks, delegate work, and send end-of-shift reports.
• Apply Lean principles to identify root causes and drive improvements; collaborate with engineering, maintenance and quality teams.
• Maintain 100% commitment to safety and PPE compliance across shifts.
