Job summary

Pier 4 is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Cambridge, Kitchener, and Guelph portfolio. You will perform preventative maintenance, repairs, renovations, and respond to resident service requests, ensuring high-quality workmanship and timely communication with the Property Manager.

As an on-site role with a career-focused team, you will handle plumbing, electrical, carpentry tasks and building systems, while complying with Ontario tenancy regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of residential maintenance, property maintenance, building operations or related experience.
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Eligible to work in Canada and successfully pass a criminal background check.
• Demonstrated experience performing general repairs, preventative maintenance, renovations, and suite turnover work.
• Knowledge of applicable Ontario residential tenancy legislation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Respond to resident service requests and maintenance concerns within 24 hours, with clear communication to the Property Manager.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and follow established schedules.
• Repair, renovate, and prepare vacant and occupied residential units, as well as common areas.
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs, including fixture replacement and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain cleanliness, appearance, and curb appeal of the property.
• Monitor and assist with operation of building systems (electrical, mechanical, boiler, elevator, fire safety, sprinkler).
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies.
• Travel between properties within the portfolio; car allowance provided.
