Job summary

PetroChina Canada invites applications for a Financial Representative to join the Finance & Accounting Team in Calgary. The role focuses on non-operated LNG/upstream assets, developing and supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.

You will liaise between finance and asset teams, contributing to commercial and contractual matters to enhance performance. Reporting to the Manager of FP&A, you will partner with asset teams, support monthly closes, develop KPI

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field.
Experience working with Joint Venture projects.
5–8 years’ relevant financial reporting/budgeting experience in oil & gas.
In-depth knowledge of oil and gas operations and management reporting requirements.
Track record of opportunity identification, ownership and resolution.

Responsibilities

Lead budget planning, governance, and approval processes aligned with JV agreements and objectives.
Provide financial guidance on capital projects, AFEs, opex, feasibility studies, R&D, and abandonment programs.
Monitor AFE and project spending; identify variances and support budget changes.
Maintain SAP investment structures, load and release approved budgets, ensuring compliance with coding requirements.
Lead monthly forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting for assigned assets.
Analyze costs and performance metrics; provide insights to improve financial results.
Partner with teams for monthly close, KPI reporting, and leadership presentations.
Advise on joint venture agreements, financial governance, and contract management.
