Job summary

PetroChina Canada is seeking a Senior Finance Representative to join the Financial Performance & Analysis team in Calgary. You will be the key liaison between the finance department and the asset teams, developing and supporting budgeting, forecasting and management reporting across oil and gas assets.

You will drive financial analysis, support AFE reviews, SAP-based budgeting, and contract oversight while collaborating with operations and leadership to improve financial and operating

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent.
• Professional accountant designation preferred, IFRS knowledge for upstream oil and gas.
• 10+ years’ relevant financial reporting/budgeting in oil and gas exploration, development and operations.
• Knowledge of oil and gas reporting requirements and ability to deliver timely reports.
• Strong experience with joint venture agreements and negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Support budgeting and forecasting for assigned assets and functional areas, challenging assumptions for budget accuracy.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc financial reports with variance analysis for senior leadership.
• Monitor operating costs and identify drivers to improve financial performance.
• Assist in AFE reviews and SAP budget changes, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Provide financial insight and contract oversight to safeguard assets and maximize value.
