Job summary

Cenovus Energy is hiring a Central Control Room Operator for offshore operations on the West White Rose Platform. The role involves 12-hour shifts with a 3 weeks on/3 weeks off rotation, overseeing production, safety systems, and utilities to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Qualified candidates will have 5–10 years of upstream offshore experience, experience with DCS and safety systems, and strong teamwork and planning abilities.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Technologist or Industry Certification from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• 5-10 years’ upstream oil and gas experience; offshore preferred.
• Knowledge of distributed control systems and computerized control/safety systems.
• Regulatory training and competency requirements per company standards.
• Ability to work with high functioning teams and strong planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate control room duties and outside operating duties as applicable.
• Adhere to work control processes (e.g., Permit to Work).
• Monitor subsea wells, flowlines, and risers per procedures.
• Monitor ICSS, fire and gas, ESD, and emergency shutdown systems.
• Operate and monitor platform processing, utilities, and protective systems.
• Respond to abnormal conditions and coordinate emergency response.
• Maintain shift logs and track personnel movements.
• Implement isolations and prepare equipment for maintenance.
• Complete lab testing for well testing and compliance.
