Job summary

McGill Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is seeking a part-time music student to support the university ensemble as a Work Study position on the Montreal campus. You will prepare, distribute, and collect sheet music, and help with rehearsal setup and teardown.

The role requires good communication, attention to detail, and flexibility to work weekends if needed. Start date 2026-10-09 and end date 2027-05-08, with a 5-hour weekly schedule under the AMUSE collective agreement.

Qualifications

• Must be a music student.
• Preference given to conducting student for the ensemble.
• Good communication in person and via email.
• Willing to work weekends.
• Schedule is coordinated with ensemble Director/s.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, distribute and collect sheet music for the ensemble.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare, distribute and collect sheet music for the ensemble.
• Efficiently setup and strike all rehearsals in the 30 minutes prior and following rehearsals.
• Submit official attendance records within 24 hours.
• Confirm seating charts and assignments for rehearsals.
• Work directly with the Ensemble Resource Supervisor and Performance Librarian.

Required Skills

• Good communication in person and via email.
• Demonstrated ability to Keen attention to detail and timely follow up to emails.
• Must be a music student.
• Preference given to conducting student for the ensemble.
• Work schedule is determined in coordination with the ensemble Director/s according to the needs of the ensemble.
• May be required to work on weekends.
